Clearly Alert
Clearly
Alert (“Al”): is
a 16.2h dark brown 1993 Thoroughbred stallion whose successful
racing career was cut short by an injury resulting from a fall
coming out of the gate. Surgery brought him sound, but he never
raced again and changed careers.
He is a Turkoman son
(1986 Eclipse Award – 4yo colt/gelding and Handicap Male
of the Year 1986). Turkoman also has sired many steeplechasers
and 49 stakes
winners
and earners of over $20 million.
His ancestry is literally
a “Who’s
Who” in racing. Conformationally he is correct and has
very good feet for a TB. He is well balanced, has three good
gaits and
nice elevation and extension. He is kind and honest and has
a willing attitude. Jumping technique is excellent, however
his
potential
has never been realized since he cannot compete. He remains
sound despite his post injury knee deformity.
We have bred him to our Percheron
mares and have produced two fine foals (a filly and a gelding
for sale). We plan
to cross back Corrcullen’s Irish Draught Sport horses to
him in the future.
He makes an excellent sire for a more traditional,
heavier purebred Irish Draught or other breeds needing refinement,
and would produce offspring suitable for any discipline.
